FUEL GUARANTEE PROGRAM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question 1 - Is it mandatory to sign up for the program?
Answer - No, it is voluntary.
Question 2 - Why is this program relevant to me?
Answer - One of the highest expenses for you while operating a machine is your fuel consumption. This Program is designed to demonstrate Caterpillar’s and dealers’ confidence in the fuel consumption efficiency of Cat machines - we put our money where our mouth is.
Question 3 - How will I sign up for this?
Answer - Your Sales Representative will provide you with an agreement document to sign up, clarifying program details, and Terms and conditions, while the Purchase Order is being collected from you.
Question 4 - May I decide on availing this program as an aftermarket offer?
Answer - No, this is only an offer with a new machine.
Question 5 - Is the committed fuel consumption value per hour, applicable for all situations?
Answer - Fuel consumption may vary by application, usage pattern of a machine, idling time, work tool attached, and so & forth. Your sales Representative will work with you to understand your operation needs, and the Fuel Consumption commitment will be quoted accordingly.
Question 6 - Duration of the Program?
Answer - 12 months from the sale date / delivery date (whichever is later).
Question 7 - Which machine models are eligible for this program?
Answer - Cat 321, Cat 322.
Question 8 - How is fuel consumption measured?
Answer - Caterpillar will use the data reported through Cat Product Link to calculate the credit.
Question 9 - How often will the report be shared?
Answer - Reports will be shared with you every quarter, i.e., 4 reports in a year.
Question 10 - How can I access my report?
Answer - Through a dedicated portal (website) called Fuel Program Platform (FPP) which is connected with your Vision Link account.
Question 11 - How is the reimbursement calculated?
Answer - B = [(M – C) x H] x F, where:
B is the value of the parts credit voucher in respect of a quarter during the Program Period for the Participating Machine (Parts Credit Value).
M is the Measured Fuel Consumption for that quarter (expressed as litres per hour) for that Participating Machine.
C is the Fuel Published Value (expressed as litres per hour) for that model of Participating Machine.
H is the operating hours (including idle time) of that Participating Machine during that quarter.
F = Decided Fuel Rate for India
Question 12 - At what rate with the Fuel cost be considered?
Answer - The Fuel Payout rate is benchmarked & established by Caterpillar for each country and reviewed from time to time (typically once, annually).
Question 13 - If I sell my machine or purchase a used Cat equipment, will this program be applicable?
Answer - No. The Program is non-transferable. The Program is only available for the original purchaser of the machines and cannot be transferred with the machines to any subsequent purchasers.
Question 14 - Are there any more terms & conditions related to this program?
Answer - Terms and conditions will vary from time to time, and we will specify the same in the agreement document, and discuss with you transparently, if you are willing to sign up for this program along with your machine purchase.
Question 15 - Is the program transferrable to another user if I sell the machine within 12 months?
Answer - The Program is non-transferable. The Program is only available to the original purchaser of the machines and cannot be transferred with the machines to any subsequent purchasers. It is the responsibility of the customer to notify the Cat dealer if a machine is transferred to a third party.
